The weather was kind to us on our Open Day on Saturday 10th March 2012. In bright sunshine, the Mayor of St Asaph, Councillor Andrew Thomas officially opened our new classroom block and reception area.
The last day of term was a non-uniform day in support of the Breast Cancer Campaign. The theme was "wear something pink" and the children had no problem meeting the challenge with an array of dazzling shades of pink on display!
Just before Christmas, our drama enthusiasts returned to School for an extra week for our latest drama workshop. This year we focussed on the story of 'The Nutcracker'.
Opportunities for sport at Fairholme have never been better. Our succession of dedicated sports coaches have, over the last 2 years, developed a varied curriculum for all age groups.
The addition of a little humour and a different angle on the traditional nativity story went down well this year with parents, grandparents and friends who attended an excellent production of “It’s a Party!
This term has seen the formation of the Fairholme School Council. We learned in assemblies about the role of local councils in the community and then set to work electing members of each class on to the School Council.
Another successful Sports Camp was held in July. Both Mr Rees and Mr Wynne worked tirelessly to provide a wide range of summer and winter sports for our enthusiasts who enjoyed keeping fit and learning new skills.
Form V managed two trips this half term! Firstly they visited St. Asaph Cathedral as part of their R.E. studies. All the children enjoyed learning about the history and the different parts of the cathedral and looking at stained glass windows.
