This term has seen the formation of the Fairholme School Council. We learned in assemblies about the role of local councils in the community and then set to work electing members of each class on to the School Council.

Another successful Sports Camp was held in July. Both Mr Rees and Mr Wynne worked tirelessly to provide a wide range of summer and winter sports for our enthusiasts who enjoyed keeping fit and learning new skills.

Form V managed two trips this half term! Firstly they visited St. Asaph Cathedral as part of their R.E. studies. All the children enjoyed learning about the history and the different parts of the cathedral and looking at stained glass windows.

This term, in our Cathedral Service, the children told the story of ‘The Selfish Giant’ through readings and songs. In this story of love and sacrifice, a giant, who is very selfish, learns to share his garden.

Form IV are learning about churches in their RE lessons this term. We therefore organized a trip to the Parish Church of St. Kentigern in St. Asaph so the children could have a look at the parts of a church and all the various furniture and equipment.

This week saw the first of our Christmas celebrations, the Nativity Play by Forms Kindergarten, I, II and III. The play was held at Oriel House Hotel and was very much enjoyed by parents, grandparents and friends.

Fairholme children again enjoyed supporting Children in Need Day on 19 November. We held a non-uniform day which also included a cake sale and a Pudsey Bear Poster competition.
