World Book Day
On World Book Day, children were invited to attend school dressed as their favourite book character and come along to assembly ready to recommend their book to others. A full range of books was discussed from ‘The Gingerbread Man’ through to ‘Lord of the Rings’. The most popular books this year included ‘Matilda’ by Roald Dahl and, of course, many of the Harry Potter books. Some of the classes recommended a book they have shared together in class and acted out small extracts.
The teachers were on good form, visually recommending their books — ‘Little Red Riding Hood’, ‘Alice in Wonderland’, ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ and ‘Smurfs– the book’!
