Travelling Back to Tudor Times
This half term Forms II – VII were fortunate enough to participate in a Medieval Day in which they were transported back into Tudor times by ‘Peter the Pedlar.’ The sessions gave an invaluable insight into the lives of both the rich and poor in Tudor society.
Pupils were given the opportunity to handle historical artefacts which helped to further develop their skills of historical enquiry. Great fun was had trying on various items of Tudor clothing and discovering just how heavy chainmail is! They also tried their hand at wool spinning, writing with a quill and creating a rubbing of a wood carving.
Finally, the pupils were lucky enough to make a replica coin from the reign of Henry VIII to keep as a memento of the day.
