It's a Hat-trick for Fairholme at the Ruthin Maths Challenge
We were delighted this term to win the Ruthin Junior Maths Challenge for the 3rd year in a row. Our two teams of 3 from Form VI battled against 23 other teams from 16 schools over a series of mathematical exercises. Firstly, they were presented with a number of maths questions to be answered sequentially, the answer to each question leading to the next. Second was a crossnumber puzzle with a point for each correct answer. This was followed by a “treasure hunt” with the teams and their accompanying 6th formers rushing around the school to find clues to maths problems. After lunch, with the hat-trick hanging in the balance, there was a final maths relay round with the teams racing to answer as many questions as possible in the time left. Navneet, Krish and Leah excelled in this round and, much to our delight, were announced as the overall winners.
