Carmina Burana
We were absolutely delighted that our senior choir was recently invited to sing with the Bangor University Chorus for their performance of 'Carmina Burana' by Carl Orff on 4th May. After various school rehearsals, we arrived at the Prichard-Jones Hall, Bangor University on Saturday, firstly for a rehearsal with the main choir and Orchestra, and later for the performance itself. The children had not, I think, envisaged the enormity of the production and were amazed by the soloists Elizabeth Cameron (Soprano), Andrew Powis (Tenor) and Terence Ayebare (Baritone) as well as the fantastic Bangor University Symphony Orchestra. The reality of the high level of performance required struck home fast and our children's choir rose to the occasion, performed beautifully and were glad to be a part of this emotional and memorable experience, a huge musical opportunity we feel privileged to have experienced. Thank you to Mrs. Cotterill for organisation and rehearsals and to Mrs Williams for keeping our performers on track!
