Battling it out at Badminton

A first at Fairholme - this half term the weekly badminton club decided to hold a tournament and showcase their skills. 16 players entered the tournament and, following the knock out rounds, the final singles match was watched by all the children. During the build up to the final there were some nail biting and intense games! Well done to Iestyn and Krish K for reaching the semi-finals and Louis and Navneet who battled it out in the final! Congratulations to Navneet, the overall winner, who won a new badminton racquet. Thanks to all the players for taking part; it was pleasing to witness such good sportsmanship as well as the development of some super skills. There will be more tournaments to come, including doubles matches! Children are encouraged to sign up to this club, particularly if they have not tried badminton before.
