Hectic Hustings

The excitement of the hustings came to Fairholme rather unexpectedly this year as the first winter General Election was announced since 1923.  We held our own Mock Elections the day before Election Day, this time inviting parents and friends to the Party Political Debate.  Fourteen parties fought fiercely to persuade the electorate (Kindergarten upwards!) that they had the best policies.  Well done to election winners — Party Pugs — and to everyone for taking part; some excellent ideas and great confidence shown!   

In assemblies, we also followed the progress of the real Election discovering names of parties, party leaders and some of the slogans adopted in this year’s election campaign.
