Music, Dance and Drama

At Fairholme, we have a strong tradition of music, dance and drama which develops the children’s confidence and poise. Impressive musical events involving all the children are held twice a year at the beautiful St. Asaph Cathedral.

Children are given the opportunity to learn and play a variety of musical instruments at Fairholme including recorder, guitar, piano, flute, clarinet, saxophone and trumpet. Lessons are either held individually or in small groups. Older children are then able to join the School Wind band or Rock Band where they have great fun learning to cooperate with each other, making music together.

Ballet is part of our school curriculum, while speech and drama lessons are provided for all students from Yr 3 onwards. RAD and LAMDA exams are studied for at the school.

All the children are encouraged to participate in our school drama productions. Our latest whole School productions, 'Oliver!' and ‘The Selfish Giant', were great fun and enjoyed by all. Keen actors and actresses are encouraged to join holiday Drama Workshops which allow the children to gain even more acting, mime, singing and dance experience. In November 2016, our Years 5 and 6 took part in the Shakespeare Schools Festival, performing 'Hamlet' at Theatr Colwyn, much enjoyed by all.
